Nike Air Max

Confession Session: ever since I bought my Nike Air Max shoes I’ve wanted another pair. They remind me of my high school days when I was obsessed with sneakers. I remember some girls being overly dressed up & uncomfortable with heels for class and I was always in my fresh kicks not worried about tripping in front of everyone (teenage girl’s worst nightmare). I also love how it can make any look sporty and funky, I always try and add a unexpected touch to whatever I wear and these shoes can give a dress a different look.

Now more than ever I love looking a little unpolished, I don’t know if that’s even the right way to describe it but I don’t like a look that’s too put together and predictable.  Nothing is ever predictable in my life, my clothes shouldn’t be an exception.

Reworking the wardrobe has been on my to-do for sometime now, but when push comes to shove you do what ya gotta do right? This maxi has been a favorite of mine since I bought it years ago. I didn't realize how much more I would love it paired with a leather jacket.  Adding a leather jacket and motorcycle boots to an outfit can really give it a different look and feel. Do you remix your wardrobe?

Just when you think everything is under control, life throws you a curve ball. I’ve always heard that expression but it never really applied to me. You see, I’m more of a go-with- the flow kind of gal. I was not the least bit worried when I was about to give birth to my son, now I can’t even fathom the thought of childbirth, it scares the crap out of me.

What happens to us as we grow older that we become more afraid? I find myself asking that question a lot lately. This week has been so crazy; it’s been a real doozey. First I go out on a limb and decide to go to Coachella because I’ve wanted to go forever. I wanted to be more of a risk taker this year, you know stop being a worry bug, I do that often. So I risk it and say “F-IT!” (Mind you I’m planning to go to Paris this summer.)  I work full time and I want to have something besides a mortgage bill to show for it.
I was really excited by Monday, I even started working out. I told myself, “if this is going to be an unforgettable summer, I want to feel good all around,” so I’m basically thrilled for life and its upcoming adventures.

Fast-forward to today January 15, 2014. My boss has his “assistant” tell his staff (me) that he can’t cover payroll… Yeah seriously you read that correctly.  Now everything feels like it’s up in the air, and I’m not scared Per Se but damn really? Now I’m afraid to make any commitments to anything minus the Coachella ticket that’s already been purchased. It’s just crazy how things can change so quickly, I know people say that all the time but when it’s happening to you, you have no choice but to face reality & who wants to do that?

Anyway enough with the yapping, here is the second week in January pictures. Cheers!

Love these boots and they were 50% off!

I've been playing catch up, anyone else addicted?

Bar is coming along.

Visited my grandparents and they gave me oranges from their tree:)

Back to school this week but I'm particularly excited for this class.

I hadn't had a good ol' bowl of cereal in a long time.

See, I wasn't kidding about all my "plans" lol

Boyfriend Wear

Due to the fact that I've managed to plan a ton of fun and over my budget summer activities, I’ve decide to put a stop to all shopping. Lately I've found myself excessively buying things that I want without thinking of my income, which can be detrimental. So, I’m going to be focusing on items I already have in my closet and re-working them for different looks. I’d rather have an experience than a garment in my closet. Do you have a budget or a way of keeping track of what you buy?

This look is pretty minimal and chic which is what I like to wear to the office. A cable-Knit sweater in a natural color can be a lifesaver in winter and those chilly spring days too.  I love this one from Old Navy & it was a steal.

Let's review shall we

The first week of the New Year has come and gone, I’ll just give you a minute to let that sink in.  Did you make a New Year Resolution? How’s that working out? I really want to set some goals but haven’t had time to sit and really think about it, I may do that over a nice latte at a coffee shop this upcoming weekend.

I’m trying to complete the 365 project, where you take a picture each day and it has really got my brain thinking more creatively. Trying to think outside the box when looking around, I guess changing your perspective can make a huge difference when it comes to photography.

Here are a few snaps from the week, enjoy!

Tout Sweet Patisserie in San Francisco, delicious macaroons and that Nutella bun is AMAZING!

On break from school so I picked up some books from the local library. I finished Man Repeller, loved it!

I've been so sick but this BaconGrilled cheese made life better.

Super sick on NYE so opted for a more comfy look.

Decisions decisions

Went to the Zara sale! Everything fits me weird.

Must Have Accessories Under $100

Must Have Items

Question for everyone, how many of you check out I personally do all the time; I look for inspiration, ideas and I really like checking it out daily. Just yesterday they featured an article on 10 accessories that every woman should own (here) they had great staple items but I was taken aback by some of the prices of the accessories. I mean every option for the nude pump was around $600. I am not in a place where I can spend that much on ANY shoe (hopefully I will one day).  So I decided to do a more affordable list of the same items that they featured because I really believe you can look great without breaking the bank.  All the items are under $100 and I like that they’re so versatile and can be worn with many different outfits, giving you more bang for your buck!

City hanging

I hate when I like an outfit in the mirror but when I see it in pictures I loathe it.  It feels like a waste of a photographer and that is a maj problem when a blog photographer is a hot commodity around here, hence the lack of posts. I do love the target jacket and I love the tassel necklace and everything else but I guess they didn’t look as good together as I once imagined, but that’s the beauty of life; You learn and try again right? Does that ever happen to you?

Had a great January 1, 2014 hanging out with these two :)

Favorite Frocks from 2013

Another year has come and gone. I really want to spend more time on an in depth post about the New Year but I’ve been too busy having fun to reflect but I will. In the meantime here are some of my favorite looks from 2013. I love seeing how my style has evolved and is continuing to change with me. Seeing pictures really helps me visually see the changes. Which look is your favorite?
