New York City Day 1

Hey everyone! Ah I feel like It's been forever since I've posted but life got a little crazy trying to prepare for NYC and trying to take midterms at the same time, but I'm back and I'm so thrilled to be sharing with you guys my New York City experience. We headed to San Jose on tuesday night to catch our flight. Since, we were taking the red eye flight I decided to have a drink at the airport in hopes of falling asleep. That didn’t happen I got 0 sleep on the flight arrived in NY at 7 am which is 4 am CA time needless to say I was EXHAUSTED when we arrived & our check-in time wasn’t until 3pm. So we dropped of our luggage and began our first adventure.

We stayed at the Marcel at Gramercy Hotel which was very cute and very chic. The staff was amazing and was able to get us a bigger room at no extra charge & you know what that means... more $ for shopping. We had breakfast there, we were dire need of coffee. My aunt who I think is a New Yorker at heart recommended a Frommer’s book called NYC day by day which was an immense help because it broke down all of the tourist locations into days and mapped them out so that you can see as much as possible in one day. This contributed to our first day being so successful.

Our first stop was The Empire State Building we got on our first subway ride which was just like I imagined. We got off somewhere and walked a few blocks to ESB, Seeing the entire city from up there was really inspiring. After that we walked around & did some shopping on 5th ave. We saw The NYC public library which looks nothing like out tiny library and then we made it to Grand Central Station by this time we were hungry again so we had lunch at Junior’s which was really good. There is ton’s of food there. We walked on 5th ave. some more after that and we went inside St. Paul's Cathedral which is breath taking just being in there made me want to get married. Next was the MoMa this place was very modern and chic. The art was amazing and inspiring. We headed out to check out Radio City Hall & Rockefeller Plaza which I was excited about because I love 30Rock. After this we were pretty exhausted so we decided to head back to the hotel. We were so tired and confused we ended up walking over 20 blocks in the wrong direction before we gave in & took a taxi but during that period we walked into Bryant park and we also saw the Flatiron Building which was neat. We finally arrived at the hotel immediately I layed down and fell asleep!

Not too shabby for the first day, what do you guys think?
