Flashback Friday

Happy 4th of July everyone! Flashback to my European Vacation, this outfit is perfect for the holiday. Not to mention, the shorts are thrifted, don't you just love it when you find something you love at a thrift store? Too bad they were borrowed from my sister and I had to give them back, bummer.

Exploring Old Town Sacramento

Sunday afternoon my sister called me with a random invitation to Sacramento for a bike ride, I declined because  I was so having a lazy Sunday but right after hanging up I felt gilt creeping in on me and I decided to call her back and accept her offer. I’m glad I did because I ended up sharing my day with her and my son exploring a new place, which is one of the things I enjoy the most in life.

I’m actually taking some time to figure out the things that I enjoy and making more time for them, it easy to get wrapped up in life without enjoying the things we have close by.

Oh also, Congrats to Mash Elle from Orlando for winning the Sweet Summer Giveaway!

Let's Go Mexico!

Like everyone else in the world I've been watching the World Cup (not that I'm looking of any excuse to hang out at a bar in the day time) & of course I have to show my pride for Mexico so here's my tribute to the 2014 FIFA World Cup! Which team are you rooting for?

P.s
This was during the week so I tossed a blazer over my t-shirt for a
more polished look for the office, blazer does the trick every time!

White on White

I had been wanting to try the “All White” look for a while now & took the opportunity to do so while I was in Paris, I loved how crisp & chic it looked. I will be playing around more with white outfits this summer.  What’s a look you’ve wanted to try for the summer?

P.s There is still time to enter the Summer Giveaway , so make sure you enter!

Have a good weekend babes!

Summer Giveaway

I’m officially back in business and what I mean is, I’m finally back in my normal routine. I have a list of to-dos that I need to tackle and at the top of my list is getting rid of clothing. Sometime before I left on vacation I went through my closet and pulled out anything that hadn't been worn in the last six months, now I have a huge pile of clothing. Luckily while I was hanging out with Dhruvi in SF , she mentioned Twice, a company that sells and buys lightly used  high quality items of clothing. It’s the perfect way to get rid of clothing or handbags and get  some extra cash in your wallet, just in time for summer.

And now for the Giveaway, Twice is giving away a $50 gift card so you can shop their site! Everlane is giving away a Twill Zip tote in reverse Denim, Voluspa is giving away a candle set, Fruute is giving a nibbler cookie sample (I love cookies) & Fjordtimpieces is giving away a timepiece.  To enter the giveaway just click on the Rafflecopter widget below

Amsterdam Experience

I’m back from my European escapade! Thanks for bearing with me while I was on hiatus from blogging, but I don’t see the point in taking a vacation & still having to work, and literally there was no time to do so, between adjusting to the time difference and trying to see as much as possible I just now had time to reflect on my experience. We got to spend some time in Amsterdam, Paris, and visited the South of France all in one trip. I’ll break up my posts so I can share some of my pictures.

The first stop was Amsterdam, I completely fell in love with the cool relaxed vibe that city has. The canals are beautiful and I must admit I even contemplated living on a boat for the rest of my life. I really was in awe at the culture here. When I saw all the women without a ton of makeup or perfectly groomed hair & wearing flats I felt like I belonged. This place was so calm and relaxed you literally forgot about time. Some of my favorite things to do were, visiting the Van Gogh Museum, taking a sunset boat ride through the canals, visiting the Anne Frank House, the Heineken Brewery was also fun and of course trying delicious food. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Meeting New Friends

I was so excited when I got a message from my fellow blogger Dhruvi from Stilettos & Sequins saying that she was in San Francisco & wanted to meet up. I quickly accepted the invitation, in my mind we were already friends even though we hadn’t met in person.  When I arrived at the restaurant & saw her it felt as if we had been friends forever, we talked for hours and in the midst of that discussed about how blogging has been such a great tool for meeting new people all over the place.
Then it brought up a question for myself, why is it easier for me to meet people online rather than meeting people in person? I guess it’s easier to break the ice over a screen than in person. Especially when you’re nervous, I said the stupidest thing yesterday while having a nervous chat with a girl I had never met. I don’t even want to repeat it, just know it was something that made no sense and only slipped out of my mouth from a place of nervousness.

With that said what’s the best way to approach new friendships with strangers? I know I’m not the only one because I’ve had these discussions with other friends, it seems as though we’ve all seen that girl at the gym we think would be a perfect workout partner, or that girl who has great style who you think would make a great shopping buddy but how do you say that without scarring them away, I am seriously laughing out loud right now as I type this. I’m just being honest. Is it harder because I live in small town? Does that even matter? I don’t know. What’s your opinion on this subject?
